The Al Najjar family has been producing authentic Aleppo soap since 1895 following traditional craftsmanship. Aleppo soap was the first hard soap produced in centuries. It is the ancestor of Marseille soap. This knowledge is passed down from generation to generation in the Al Najjar family soap factory in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria.

Every year from the end of November to the end of March, the production of the world’s first hard soap begins anew after an unchanged process . The soaps then dry for at least nine months. During this period, the soaps oxidize on the surface and take on a yellow-beige color, while the heart of the soap retains the green color of the oils.

Aleppo Najel soap is made from olive oil and bay oil . Saponified olive oil is a powerful cleanser that nourishes, protects and softens the skin. Laurel oil is known for its disinfecting and regenerating properties. The higher its concentration, the more the soap soothes irritated or problematic skin (psoriasis, eczema, acne, dermatosis).
