Ma’amoul are Arabic shortbread cookies stuffed with dates, pistachios or walnuts. They can be shaped like a ball, convex or flattened.

They are very popular in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and other Middle Eastern countries. Many Arab households have them in stock throughout the year, ale are especially consumed on religious holidays.
